Staying In A Serviced Apartment

Published 4th November 2024

Serviced apartments are some of the best ways to experience a city like London when you’re travelling. However, if you’ve never stayed in one before, you may be a little unsure of the proper rules and etiquette.

Fortunately for you, this guide will explain everything you need to know for your next serviced apartment stay.

How to check in

Similar to a hotel, there will always be a set of guidelines when checking into a serviced apartment. Typically you will be given clearer instructions of how to access your apartment the day before and will be notified of the check in and check out times.

When booking with Stayprime, check in is at 3PM and check out is at 11AM. And though these times are fixed, you can get in touch with us the day before to see if there is any flexibility with your check in and check out times.

What amenities to expect

The beauty of a serviced apartment is that you can expect a whole host of amenities. Everything for a 24 hour helpline for all your needs, a weekly cleaning service and even a wide range of in room extras too.

You are really booking a hotel-like experience when staying in a serviced apartment so you can certainly expect inclusive benefits like Wifi, complimentary toiletries and high end furnishings.

How long can you stay in a serviced apartment?

Serviced apartments are a fantastic option for both long and short term lets. So whether you are in London for a 2-5 day city break or even a longer term, 1-3 month assignment, you will have all options open to you.

Etiquette when staying in a serviced apartment

If you’ve never stayed in a serviced apartment before, here is some etiquette tips for you to follow:

Follow check in/ check out times

Check in and check out times are important because it provides enough time for housekeeping to prepare the apartment for the next visitor. However, please do get it touch the day before your check in/check out to see if any further accommodations can be made for you.

Respect your neighbours

Serviced apartments are typically located in residential areas. As such, you will have neighbours and it’s important to be respectful of them. Keep noise levels at a minimum and be cautious when arriving late back to the apartment .

Keep your apartment tidy

While most serviced apartments like Stayprime offer a housekeeping service, you should still keep the apartment in order. Additionally, take care not to damage any of the facilities in the apartment as this will incur a fee.

Follow maximum occupancy

Occupancy rules are in place to keep everyone safe. Having too many people in the apartment can be a safety hazard which is why it’s so important to follow these rules.

Respect apartment rules

For Stayprime apartments, this includes respecting the no smoking and no pets rules. But regardless of where you are staying, following the serviced apartment rules will ensure you and other guests have a great experience.

Report any issues

If you do see any damage or anything askew, please be sure to report this to management immediately.

Observe all security measures

This is for your safety and the safety of the apartment itself. This means you should always keep your doors locked and windows closed when you leave the apartment and avoid allowing unknown and unauthorised people from accessing the apartment.

Summary

Serviced apartments are a fantastic way for any visitor to experience a city like London. And even if you haven’t stayed in a serviced apartment before, you should feel nervous as the process is really easy! Just be sure to follow our guidelines and you’ll be certain to have a wonderful time.
