Notting Hill within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, is a vibrant and trendy area, making it a great choice for your stay in London. The area is well connected, with accessibility to multiple tube lines and only a stone’s throw away from the heart of Central London.

Known for its colourful houses and the lively Portobello Rd Market, Notting Hill in West London is full of character and charm. The area boasts some of the best cafes, pubs and restaurants in London. Whether you are hoping for an up-market dining experience or instead are looking for some vintage clothing or furniture gems, Notting Hill has something for everyone.

Portobello Rd Market

The Portobello Rd Market is one of the most iconic street markets in the world, bringing together a rich community of diversity and culture. During the Summer, most stalls on Portobello Rd are open from 8-9am and close between 5-6pm. During the Winter, most stalls are open from 9-10am and close between 4-5pm, with limited trading on weekdays and full trading on weekends.

Electric Cinema

The Electra Cinema in Notting Hill is one of Britain’s oldest working film theatres. It offers a unique cinematic experience with extra comfy chairs, snacks and delicious food. If you are looking for an activity away from the hustle and bustle of London, watching a movie at the Electric Cinema is the perfect choice, just sit back, relax and enjoy.

Shepherd’s Bush station is also located a 20 minute walk away, providing access to the London Overground and Southern Railway.

Notting Hill has activities to suit every type of traveller. One of London’s most iconic parks, Holland Park is located nearby and is the perfect place to relax and let the day go by. After a visit to Holland Park, you can wander around The Tabernacle or head to the Graffik Gallery for a Graffiti Class. Fans of the movie Notting Hill must head to the Notting Hill Bookshop! If those activities aren’t for you, Notting Hill is home to many beautiful mews perfect for an afternoon wandering around away from the crowds. One of our favourites is the x mews, located just off Portobello Rd.

 

Finally, if you’re in the city in August, Notting Hill Carnival is one of the biggest and most incredible celebrations of culture, music and food.

Shopping

For the shopping lovers, if you’re in Notting Hill it’s hard to look past the Portobello Rd Market. Here you will find everything from delicious food stalls, to vintage furniture and clothing treasures. Westbourne Grove is also a popular shopping destination, home to upmarket boutiques like Reformation and ME+EM. 

 

Whilst on Westbourne Grove be sure to check out the Daylesford Organic Store. The first of the Daylesford Organic stores in London, it is the go-to place for fresh produce and quality wine, which can then be enjoyed at your Stayprime apartment.
