Marylebone Area Guide
Marylebone is an affluent, inner city area located within the City of Westminster. Marylebone is a chic and happening area with a village feel, making it a great place to base yourself whilst in London.
The area is extremely well connected to London’s key monuments and attractions, whilst also being easily accessible from key International Airports. From world-class restaurants to cosy cafes, beautiful parks and hidden gems, Marylebone truly has it all.
Highlights
The Regents Park
Regents Park is one of the Royal Parks of London, occupying 410 acres of land in north-inner west London. Often overlooked by tourists in the shadow of the world-renowned Hyde Park, Regents Park features spectacular architecture and landscaping.
With so much ground to cover you can spend as much (or as little) time walking around taking in the beautiful spaces.

Daunt Books
Daunt Books is very popular with book-lovers and Marylebone is one of six locations around London. The Marylebone store was the first custom-built bookstore in the world which can be seen through the beautiful originally kept interiors, featuring partially glazed glass.
As well as being decorated by huge shelves of books, Daunt Books also features iconic artworks by William Morris. This independent bookstore is widely regarded for its originality and impeccable service.
Paul Rothe & Son
Another London institution, Paul Rothe & Son is an independent family run delicatessen specialising in freshly made sandwiches and hot soups. This deli has been open since the 2nd of August 1900, and has always been managed by a member of the Rothe family, which is likely why it is a local favourite.
Whilst in store be sure to purchase one of the many eclectic jams, marmalades or condiments, for a guaranteed flavour sensation.

Eating
Marylebone is home to some of London’s most prestigious and well regarded restaurants. With everything from Modern British cuisine to Peruvian fusion, this area truly has something for everyone.
If you are looking for a more up-market option be sure to check out Jikoni, Opso, Chiltern Firehouse, Carlotta or Pachamama.
For a more budget friendly option, BAO has an incredible £15 lunch deal, which will leave you feeling full and satisfied. Two Point Thai, Delamina and Donostia are also great options so be sure to give them a try.

As a foodie you will be absolutely spoilt for choice staying at our New Cavendish Street Apartments.
Marylebone also has a bustling cafe and bakery scene. For some of the best coffee and pastries in London, WatchHouse has you covered. A few of our other favourites include The Monocle, 106 Baker Street and Arome Bakery.
Drinking
In addition to the amazing restaurants in Marylebone, this area is also full of great pubs and bars. Some of our favourite pubs include The Prince Regent, The Marylebone Bar and The Coach Makers Arms.
If you are looking for some experimental cocktails be sure to head to FAM Bar & Kitchen. The menu features unique cocktails such as the ‘FAM piccante’ and ‘Pisco Disco’ as well as all the classic drinks you could expect.
For the wine lovers out there, head to 28°- 50° Wine Workshop & Kitchen, which features an extensive wine list and great food too which is guaranteed to tickle your taste buds.
Attractions
With Marylebone just a stone’s throw from the heart of Central London, you won’t run out of things to do in this vibrant area.
Take a walk down Marylebone High Street and you will pass Daunt Books, which claims to be the first custom-built bookstore in the world. For avid readers or even those who appreciate antique design, it is definitely worth a visit.
From there you can stroll down to Regents Park, arguably one of the most picturesque and tranquil green spaces London has to offer. Regents Park is home to everything from wetlands and gardens to children’s playgrounds and sporting facilities.
When London blesses us with sunshine, a picnic in one of the extensive gardens should not be overlooked.
For those interested in modern art, Frameless is an interactive, thought-provoking exhibition which will leave you inspired. With constantly changing exhibitions, you will be able to visit each time you come to London.
Once you have ticked all of these off your London travel list, if you are lucky enough to be visiting on a weekend, be sure to head to the Marylebone Farmers Market.
This market operates every Sunday from 10am – 2pm and features fruit and vegetables from Manor Farm, Riverdale Organic Farm, Wild Country Organics and the popular Potato Shop.
Pick up some fresh produce to take back and enjoy in the comfort of your home away from home, Stayprime.
Shopping
Staying in Marylebone makes it hard to escape some of the best shopping this city has to offer (which can be a good or bad thing depending on how much you love to shop).
Wander down Marylebone High Street and you will quickly discover a range of stores and boutiques including ME+EM, Mejuri, Ganni and Sandro.
Your next stop has to be the iconic and world-renowned Selfridges, an upscale department store which stocks designer and popular fashion brands, plus homewares, gifts, beauty products and more.
If the shopping gets too much – the Selfridges Food Hall is a spectacle in and of itself, home to amazing restaurant stalls and produce from all over the world.
If Marylebone High Street and Selfridges still aren’t enough, take a walk around Central London and you will find any brand you can think of across Oxford and Regent Street.
